Carla Cassano from Untie – a JAYE Company, a student from MCAST, shares her story of what it feels being an MCAST participant in the Company Programme.
MCAST is a college fulfilled with opportunities, starting with just little things around the college and going straight up to volunteering abroad. My first year at the Business /Management & Commerce section was truly unforgettable! The institute has carried out a variety of entrepreneurial programmes throughout the year and that is what students need, to be able to challenge themselves into their own studies.
A few tips for all you Freshers:
- Boots in winter are an MCAST NEED, there are way too many puddles!
- Keep your student card handy, security won’t let you in the canteen and you’ll end up eating vending machine food (NEVER ENDING HUNGER)
- Exam results take forever to come out! So be patient!
On the Other hand ….. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT MALTA FOUNDATION … offers hands on experience in the entrepreneurial world…The place where you get to show your creativeness…
As an Alumni of the Company Programme, I can say that JAYE helped me shine my inner-self in a way that made me realize how much potential I withhold. Throughout the programme I’ve learnt that teamwork is one of the most important things when working in a group. Unfortunately, my team suffered quite a bit! The team changed 3 times and due to this, I was in doubt whether to quit the programme or not more than once.
However, we made it to the Awards Nights and it was one of the most full filling events organized by JAYE Malta. Due to various obstacles taking place on that day my team could not make it to the event and had to present our company to audience alone and that’s what struck me the most!
Having the courage to go up on stage and present with no fear at all !
My 10 cents on the programme:
1: Embarks you on a jourey to the entrepreneurial world. ( The opportunies will NEVER END!)
2: You’ll become friends with all your apponents and the game starts getting harhser and harsher ! <3
3: Teaches you how to run a company from SCRATCH! (JUST IMAGINE YOU BEING A MANAGING DIRECTOR!) xD
4: Your networking will never end ! You’ll meet many people along the way that will not only help you with the programme but will continue to help you in your future.
5: Finding time to meet or negotiate with the team proved to be harder than we thought!
